The Egg admin 25, August
I ran across a cool physics-based egg game today called The Egg which uses a combination of walls and springs in real-life like fashion as tools you can use to get an egg to the final basket. I didn’t think much of the game at first, but was quickly addicted to its simple, yet challenging game play. Each level presented its own set of difficulties and sometimes new obstacles like bombs(added in stage 3) caught me by surprise when they appeared on the level. This is one game where a decent knowledge of physics and how collisions interact with each other actually helps you beat the game.

Even the first level wasn’t a complete piece of cake. I had to do trial and error quite a few times with the spring and the wall before I finally got the egg to fall into the final basket. It wasn’t so much that the egg had to fall into the basket on most levels, but the fact that certain targets needed to be hit and certain obstacles had to be avoided in order for the level to complete. The game is a great puzzle game for those people who want to bend their brain and figure out how to arrange the bounce platforms and walls to make the egg achieve the final goal. This game is well-executed with excellent playability.

If you don’t want to think that much and need a walk-through, take a look at this video, it is a complete walk-through:

Gravoider admin 25, August
Gravoider is the latest sponsored game from flashninjaclan.com. It, like click fest 3, is not some kind of amazing action or RPG game, but uses a simple mechanic that makes the game simple to play and fun. There are four modes and high scores for each of them. In this game, the objective is quite simple. You must use the mouse to drag the blue balls so they do not hit the falling red balls. If any of the blue balls hit, the game is over.

The harder the difficulty, the greater the number of balls you have to manage. There isn’t any overly complex physics in this game but the balls do follow basic rules of gravity and collision. For instance, the balls do bounce after they hit the ground and will bounce off walls, sometimes with very fast speed. You must keep track of this at all times or the balls will hit one of the falling objects and the game will be over. Its a game that is great for testing your ability to multi-task different objects to keep everything safely tucked away, out of the range of falling objects. I was not very good at it but had a fun fifteen minutes playing the game.

While not the game you may be looking for if you are looking to sit down for an hour and play a game, this game is great for killing that 10 minute break or snack-time you have.

JVC Stinger Sniper admin 25, August
This feature is on the shooting/point and click adventure JVC Stinger Sniper from Pencil Kids. Its a combination of a scope-sniping game and a point and click adventure. In some missions you’ll have a certain amount of time to kill the enemy or destroy a facility while in other missions you must interact with the environment to achieve an objective. In this game, you are part of an underground militia which is trying to liberate the earth from “stingers” in the 26th century. The stingers are bio-produced androids that have somehow taken over the operations of the world.

The game starts off easily with a simple sniping mission in which you must find and kill a few level 1 enemy stingers within a certain amount of time. The first mission is pretty easy and just by searching the building, you should easily be able to find all the enemies. The 2nd level is a bit trickier. You must deactivate a high-voltage security system, but if you touch the system without shutting off the electricity first, you die and the mission is failed. You must first get on top of the building to deactivate the electrical generator. To do this, remove the brick in front of the trash dump, then push the trach dump next to the building so you can use it to get on to the generator. Do not touch the generator! Instead click on the wire connection that leads from the generator to the cage to break it with a brick. Then climb down, enter the cage, and disable the security system. This took me a while to figure out. In most of these point and click adventures, you just have to find all the places where you can click in order to solve the puzzle and beat the level. For a more in-depth walkthrough, I suggest you visit This page(please note I am not affiliated with this site and it can be down at times).

Overall, I had a lot of fun playing this game and it kept me entertained for about an hour. Trying to find the solutions to some of the puzzles was frustrating but the sniping levels in between were enough to relieve the stress. This was a very well-balanced game between shooting and puzzles and the graphics were very smooth. If you’ve got a hour, I suggest you check this game out.

Click Fest 3 admin 25, August
Sometimes I wonder why people like a certain game so much, even though there is little to no point in it. Click Fest 3 is one of those games. At first glance its just mindless clicking of bubbles as fast as you can. But if you play for a while, its strangely addicting, especially with the high scores. Trying to beat other people’s time just makes you want to play over and over again. Another reason the game is so appealing is that the levels and background are designed very well.

While it may not win any prizes of graphical greatness, the background patterns, the way the bubbles are designed and the music all add to the immersion of the game. The choice of either 15 or 30 levels lets players choose between a very short and a slightly longer game.

This game ended up getting a whopping 3.8 on Newgrounds and more plays than 95% or more of the games that get submitted to Newgrounds. It may even hit frontpage with that high score. This proves that it does not take great graphical or programming skill to make a successful game. You just have to have an idea for a game that has simple objectives, make the game attractive to the eye, and make it easy to play. The games that do the best are games where people compete for a high score but the task can be done in a few minutes. The average flash game player only spends 3-5 minutes playing per session, so keep that in mind the next time you are making a game.
