xWUNG review and video guide/walkthrough

xWUNG Recently, a game that has been really popular around the web is xWUNG. Big flash game review sites like JIG have given it the standing ovation of a slam-dunk type game. I disagree with this analysis of the game as I do not see anything that special or amazing about this game. Now, I won’t not give credit where its due. This is a pretty decent game and it was fun for a while but a slam-dunk ultra-awesome game it is not. This game reminds of one other game I’ve played in the past with many of the same mechanics. I can’t recall the name of the other game but it basically involved swinging a mace in a circle and hitting targets, much like this.

This game does have different enemies and bosses which makes it an interesting play due to the variety. But the debris being the thing that killed you was somewhat strange. Since debris basically goes flying everywhere when you hit an object, your never quite sure if you are dead or not. Many times(and this got annoying), I found that I randomly died when I didn’t even see what hit me. I prefer having an enemy I can see all the time and not some debris that comes flying out of object that I have to kill as the scatter can be quite large at times. I never got too far in this game as some piece of debris or other always managed to kill me somehow without me seeing it.

Overall, I think this game is good for a bit of swinging fun but not a game that I could play for very long.

But if you really like this game and want to see a video of someone doing decently well, here’s a video of someone getting to 130,000 points.

Digg!
