Today’s fun game is Attack of the pink balls, a fun collect/avoider type game. In this game you are a stickman who runs around the screen collecting boxes and avoiding pink balls. You have five lives and you die if pink balls squash you five times. Different colored boxes fall from the sky and each type is worth a certain number of points. Your goal is to get the most points possible before dying. I played a few times and I always got around 2,000 points before dying. The game does get harder the more points you have as more balls and faster ones will appear on the screen.

Most of this game relies on timing as to when to run under the balls to get past them to grab the boxes. Many times two balls will be close to each other so you have to time it pretty close to get past them. You should not stay very close to the left side of the playing field for long as balls come out of there and sometimes they drop straight down before you can react. Some will shoot quickly out of the left side and bounce straight toward the center. Balls come at all angles and velocities. Most of the times you’ll die because you got trapped, not because you didn’t react fast enough.

The graphics in this game were plain stick-figure graphics but it works well for a simple game like this. The music was repetitive but surprisingly not annoying and game-play was fun.

This game is not a trailblazer but its a well-polished game in its genre and good for wasting a few minutes of productivity.
