I'm with Bob. I'm a programmer and the command count wasn't important to me. Level 10 is by far the hardest to work out because the opportunities to move commands into the functions are not very obvious. My final working solution made prolific use of F1 and used F2 as "more main". The reason I went this route was specifically to reuse F1 as many times as possible.

Level 10:
Main: 1 L L J J R 1 1 1 1 L 2
F1: J J W W W J R B
F2: L J L W R 1

In similar vein, level 12 can be done without using F2 at all.

level 12:
Main: W J B 1 1 1 1 L 1 1 1
F1: B J B J B J R
F2:

As a programmer, I prefer solutions like these because a month or a year later when I come back to figure out what I did it will be pretty obvious how I arrived at that solution. When all kinds of convoluted tricks are used to optimize the number of commands, it takes as long to figure out what you did before as it did to figure it out the first time. That makes it really hard to fix things later or alter one solution to fit another set of requirements. In actual programming this is very important.
