Whiteboard Tower Defense is another DTD-like game that lets you build a maze with towers that creeps must go around and not survive before they get to the end. The graphics of this game are also DTD-ish, but the mechanics of this game are different. The towers have different powers and ranges and also have different effects which makes this game stand out on its own. However, the game just didn’t appeal to me as much as DTD did but is still worth a good few hours play. Below I have a walk-through for this game on medium difficulty with images of my layout every 10 waves. |
Wave 10:
For waves 1-10, I just started building my Maze with basic towers and as you can see, one AOE range tower:

Wave 20:
For waves 11-20, I basically continued the maze except I upgraded my AOE tower, built a stick-man tower, and built a static floor tile. A good strategy throughout the game is to build more towers that you can afford instead of saving up for the bigger towers(at least on medium), then wait for the boss levels before you purchase the really big upgrades. Otherwise too many creeps will slip past while your waiting for upgrade money.

Wave 30:
At wave 30, I had just about upgraded the stickman tower, the AOE tower and the static floor tile to max and was waiting for money for the boss tower. Waiting for money is generally not a good idea in this game on normal.

Wave 40:
At wave forty, I had already built two boss towers and upgraded 1 of them twice. I also bought 1 electricity tower and upgraded it to the 2nd to last upgrade.

Wave 50:
At wave 50 I had 6 boss towers with two of them upgraded to full and the rest upgraded to next to full. I used the boss that gave 500,000 or so to upgrade my first boss tower to full and then used some money from the following two waves to upgrade the other one. 50 was the last wave and I beat it.

This strategy of laying out an extravagant maze probably won’t work on hard as it was cutting it close at times just on medium. On hard, you’d probably have to group all your towers closer together with the boss towers near the center and above the static floor tile. Use some serious slowing effects of floor tiles to slow the creeps and AOE lightening to help with the earlier levels(pre level 40).
Good luck and happy defending!

Great walkthrough!!! 11/10
October 2nd, 2008 at 1:19 pm
only reason you cut it close is cause you didnt use electric floors enough. space your maze out and put them through the whole maze. works a lot better

good walkthrough HELPED on normal is hard tho first try on it lost a wave 25 halfway tho!!

good stradigy i faild on me a few times but then i added space for more electric floor tiles and put lightning rods arownd them
October 5th, 2008 at 5:35 pm
i also max upgraded all my peon towers
October 7th, 2008 at 1:07 pm
Man, u really suck at this game.
Im like 7-8 levels in front of you, on level hard.
And i only played it like two-three times.
Where is all your money?
October 9th, 2008 at 11:30 am
Horrible.
did everything according to ur guide and failed on lvl 45
you need to upgrade peons to win.
add that.

Tight spacing and longest maze only works for medium levels. On hard you need electric floors to slow them down. You will also need to design a maze to allow juggling.
October 29th, 2008 at 11:11 am
poor walkthrough,
But it is possible to complete hard with tight spacing like this, it’s just easier not to

Good walk through, but here are some improvements. In the top right where you have the extra space, line that part with electric floors, and if you do it right, should be able to fit in half a column of them on the next line. The floor plan is good, but one major flaw. You put an electric flaw in the middle of a column, they can go right through it and skip the bottom half of a row, not good. Another thing i found very effective was to put the lighting towers next to the electric floors, devastating
. Finally, you have to upgrade all the peons, and maybe add another stick man in the middle (good bang for their buck). I did that and beat it no sweat. Thanks for the walk through, hope this helps others.

Good walkthrough, but you need to upgrade ALL of your towers not just the peons. And more electric floors
December 5th, 2008 at 7:39 am
Beat it on hard with a strategy like this, except with a row of teleporter towers at the end (=] so no one could pass) and all peon tower upgraded max.
December 20th, 2008 at 3:05 pm
yeah leave enough gap to but down electric floors all the way round except that it is mint and i got to 15th in world on one day just doing that thanks man

Your set-up will work in the early rounds, but as you move through the levels you really need the electric floors to slow down the critters and allow the towers to blow them away. When you get into the level 70 range there are critters with 735,000,000+ HP that you really need the electric floors to slow them down. In the 70 range you also need to build loops that you can switch the critters through to extend the maze. I got the highest score in the history of the game at 2,191,000,000 and have other top scores
January 3rd, 2009 at 5:03 pm
this strategy JUST ABOUT works for medium (with a few alterations) but it cuts it a bit fine on occasion
and what do you mean by loops?
btw do you guys upgrade your peon towers or not?
I only did at the later levels because I had the money spare lol
January 11th, 2009 at 11:24 pm
LAME! you do not need electric floors though, I have gotten to like level 70, you need more zig zagging to slow down the flying red guys, also as soon as you fill the floor start replacing as many as possibly with the stickmen, they are the key.

Hi, I’m a new buyer, fair-minded registered on your forum. I faith for your message, I chose the orthodox area – this.

LOOPS
Once you start using loops the Armor does not register your top scores. I have scores over 10 billion and once I do they eliminate all of my top scores over their hypothetical top score of 2.1xxx Billion. I guess they don’t want you using loops. After level 67 I have enough $ to tear down the original layout described above and build a new one with only boss towers maxed out. Here is the layout s is space, b is boss tower and X is the switch that creates the loop. In the beginning put any weapon in the bottom X to make the critters pass by. Once they get close to the end, sell the weapon in the bottom X and place a new one in the Upper X. This makes the only path through the X that you just sold. Repeat the switch until all critters are dead. In the higher levels that can take some time. Please note that the chart below is a rough estimate. You can squeeze more boss towers in by making the spaces only half as wide as a weapon

Well done, Brian – you have managed to make a dull game even more boring.
February 12th, 2009 at 12:00 pm
This is quite possibly the worst walkthrough for this game. You showed no knowledge of strategy or any understanding of the abilities of half the towers. What kind of fucking idiot puts 1 electric floor tile in the middle of whats supposed to be a wall? You suck. Seriously.
February 12th, 2009 at 7:55 pm
There is a glitch that you can use to get a good head start. Play a game up to the point that you max out a boss tower. Then click the boss tower so its stats are shown. Now just let the little monsters escape, thus ending your game. Now start a new game. The stats for the boss tower will still be up. Press “s” to sell it and start your new game with enough money to make a maze constructed of nothing but maxed out money towers and electric floors…and a lower level boss tower to be leveled up later. The best part is having all of those money towers. You can earn an extra 200-300 per kill.

Trapping
Sometimes the game will let you place a tower where you should not be able to. You can completely close off the path to the end. Don’t forget to try it. If successful, the little monsters just stop moving. Their health bar vanishes, but they keep taking damage. You are now free to walk away and get a snack.

Update on trapping
I think that you can use trapping as long as there is still a legitimate path to the end. Set up a maze as though you were going to loop, then close the little monsters off to one side. They will not start moving again even if you sell the towers and open the path back up so you can contain multiple levels of monsters while you wait for your towers to finish them off.

Finish unlimited levels with easy:
1. I found the looping trick as well as scott described.
2. Then, found you could legally trap all the critters.
Here is how:
a. enclose a stright path at the bottom of the screen, this path is the backup path just to keep a legitimate backup path from entrance to exit, and use a tower to close this path at beginning.
b. construct another very long S shape pathway using the rest of the space.
c. start and let critters in, when the critters getting close to the end of the S path way, sell the tower blocking the backup path at the bottom; put two towers to block the beginning and end of the S path way.
d. This should be able to get you to any level you want, because S path way is long enough to trap all critters. After 73 level, you might want to make some coffee and take some snack, as it takes quite a while for the critters to die.

I cant seem to upgrade any impact tower to lvl 4 why is this i have the money but still cant plz help

As Scott Said:
There is a glitch that you can use to get a good head start. Play a game up to the point that you max out a boss tower. Then click the boss tower so its stats are shown. Now just let the little monsters escape, thus ending your game. Now start a new game. The stats for the boss tower will still be up. Press āsā to sell it …
Please note. THIS WORKS. I’ve just started hard mode, and had a 400k maxed boss tower selected. I SOLD it, because it still had its stats up, and now I have peons making up my maze, and electric floors where I can put them, and ELEVEN first-level boss towers.
– Time to kick back and cruise to victory. =]

I don’t understand why ppl are saying this doesn’t work! It works great for easy and medium, and he said that it has to be adjusted for hard.
Didn’t have an issue at all. Highscore and all my respect left. Thanks so much! <3

Hey jude so u maxed out all the boss towers not that big of a deal i did that to. It was super easy. The walkthrough helped a lot. Although you need transport towers at the end of the maze when your at L70 and up or else the critters get through
