Imperium is an epic strategy game that is filled with tactics, strategy, and a whole ton of resource management and confusion all wrapped in one package. While probably not the best for a casual gamer that doesn’t play strategy often, it is great for a strategy junky. This game has 24 different kinds of resources which all need to be used to produce units or provide supplies(food, iron, etc), and gold for wages. You must balance them all in order to build your empire and conquer the island. I’ve played this game on medium and have written a strategy. |
This game is very complex so I would recommend you start off on easy to get the hang of micro-management of resources, moving resources, and attacking. I suggest you start playing on speed 2 as speed 1 is too slow and anything faster is tough to manage. First off is that you will have to move your resources a lot. No one city can produce all the different kinds of resources. In the city that I start with I could only produce spear soldiers and arrow soldiers. You have to be fast also as the rival empire is also expanding and conquering lands. You need to try to be faster than them. Start off the game by building a house and then a farm. That will give you population and food. Be careful and watch your resource intake/outgo as that is very important. If you run out of a certain resource in your starting city, your kind of screwed. You must build as you go along. Also upgrading buildings is better than buiding new ones as it is more space efficient. If you are running low on a certain resource, build the structure that produces that resource. Do not run out of food, iron, money, or logs in this game on your first city. When you have about 500 troops or so, split them up into 250 arrow and 250 spear and go attack the area below you. You should be able to conquer it with that many troops and start building on that city immediately with a house and a shrimp farm. Note that you cannot produce a barracks in this city(at least in my game), so you will have to import troops over from your first city. Don’t ever leave a city empty as barbarians will come and attack. Before you import, build and upgrade plenty of extra houses in your 2nd city as the soldiers will need lots of space to love. In this second city, you should be able to access horses and elephants(or other resources since your game may be different). Build horse and elephant stables. You can import bows and spears from your first city. Get a group of 250 archers, 250 spear-men, 80 elephants, and 100 horses, and go attack another province. You should be able to take it out. Remember in battles, the more battalions you have, the better as it will force the enemy to spread fire out more allowing troops to live longer. Then repeat the building process until there are no un-occupied spaces left. Make sure to never leave a city empty on troops or it will get taken over by the enemy or barbarians. When you have to fight the other empire, use a province as a super-house province and import all your stuff there and attack with one huge strike. On easy, it shouldn’t be too hard to beat the AI, but on medium, it might take a few tries. If you’ve expanded and built right, you should eventually be able to whittle your enemy down and defeat him. Happy conquests. Feel free to post and comment on your strategies here.

I’m getting NaN for my two conquered cities in the working slot. I cant seem to produce much. Every time i import lots of food and money, it disappears almost immediately. What the heck is going on?

try with a different type of weapon for elephant, I tried normal arrow and elephant disappear.

Build more houses
For me, I just nicely maintain each town so that it can grow and constantly export and import to get resources and money. Usually my food overflow and exporting it means a lot of money. You can war with 1 or 2 to see roughly how big is the enemy army. After developing for sometimes, you can attack cities and leave them empty if you feel the barbarians and the other empire often strike that place. But make sure you move the resources from the city somewhere else. Sometimes, you can transport troops to various cities to stock up. Then you just do a chain of moving resources when you want to attack, gathering all of your troops for attack, but make sure you do it fast or risking troops leaving.
Beware of enemy’s catapult, they can tear apart your army before you know it. Try conquer Haze early to get catapult and then take another nearly city such as enemy starting capital so as to ensure the enemy do not attack Haze. These strategy worked for me and I massively gathered troops, attacking every 10 to 30 days, roughly amount to 1000 over troops, mainly horses, elephants, catapults, magicians and super soldiers. Do underestimate these super soldiers, they sometimes can kill armies even if outnumbered.

I have no idea why, try the game at “armor games” to see if you meet the same problem again, I never met problems like that before.
I just realized that spamming catapults can destroy a lot of armies. I used around ten troops of 4 catapults each and easily destroyed enemy’s army which is about 200 to 300.

I encounter the same Problem as what richie has
i have about 200 elephants and i out 20 of them in but they dissapear.>.<
O and its good to split up the army into 20′s or thirties and the catapults will kill the green barbarians in one hit
Making alot of shrimp or fish things will give you alot of food then export it and geta lot of money
SUPER SOLDIERs are hugely strong and i love them but its hard to make them because you need alot of steel

i usely put about 20 of them in the war and i usually win with them

I love this game!!!
It’s a great game that you have to really think about in order to be successful….
Like the previous players said the only problem I have encountered was the loss of elephants during war, that was because i had two sets of elephant groups use two different types of weapons…so instead I just use all of them using only one type of weapon so i can have all of them at war….
I’m playing in hard now, but in order to survive, you have to start with a few house then build at least three types of food resources and upgrade them, with that you’d start getting a lot of food which then you can export food and receive money to buy such things like Iron and Logs….
then start with building types of resources that you need like Iron, carpenter house, steel and oil…then start building ways of making money…lastly build your military and the sources they need since most likely you wont be attacked so early, so you shouldn’t be so concerned at the beginning of building an army so fast..
Once you wage war with at least 500-600 types of troops, you do the same thing with the new city you conquer, but now your able to develop much quickly since you have more resources….
remember what every city specializes in what so you can concentrate building as much types of resources that city is good at, so then later you can move resources to other cities that don’t have or need those types of resources, such as some cities have great amount of iron and steel available, some have witches, elephants, horses, types of weapons and so forth…
and yes as one mentioned Super Soldiers are the best, therefore when you start building them try to make as many Steel Mines as possible, and start earning a lot of money so you can import steel, they are by far the best troops to go to war with.

I’m having the same problem with john, it looks like their is a bug. Whenever i put a house or any building in some building area, even i have lots of food and gold it will disappear and then tell me i don’t have enough gold and food that is why the people left the house. then my worker will be NaN. I dont know how to avoid this. . . I hope someone knows about this^^,

I play on max games and when i build houses in a new area every ten seconds or so the houses disappear and my food instantly drops to zero.

For people reporting the NaN bug, this occurs when you save it without allowing the website to hold enough information. to fix this, right-click on the game and click settings. a window will come up that says “How much information can http://www.addictinggames.com store on your computer?” and you set that to unlimited ( it really doesn’t take up too much space.) This should fix the problem after your next save.

Building as many oil rigs as you can, you can fund your entire empire.
Catapults are more effective than super soldiers.
Import steel for super soldier development using the revenue from your oil exports.
Just my 2 cents on how to play the game and win quickly.

Hello, I finally figured out the elephants! They only work when armed with swords or spears. The arrow or fire arrow ones disappear at the start of the battle, perhaps because those are two handed weapons and the soldiers need one hand to steer the elephant.
Also, I tried out the suggestion here to export extra food for cash, but as I expanded territories it was annoying to remember going back and selling food before it ran out of money and was abandoned. For some reason it is easier for me to get a pearl economy going and spread that wealth around the territories. Either city you start in there is a city directly East that can harvest pearls.

i played this game everyday and i know its super epic and i hate the people saying how to make workers and soldiers and some starter questions JUST READ THE HELP AND TUTORIAL AND READ THE STRATEGY GUIDE cause it contains your questions or ill say some of it artavera empire starts out in with swords and bows while zargas empire has spears and bows and to get the elephants and catapults and stuff. conquer cities each city have diff. soldiers to make and diff. weapons to make oh and btw in the elephant thing how come i saw elephants using fire arrows in demo fights???

A quick way: use zargas. set on any difficulty( i am weak and proud of it) divide resources evenly, and set the remaining 2 bonuses in iron and wood. play regularly, but be sure to try and occupy haze quick. build catapults, with the minimum of 20. also have coal. use this catapults to take over each and every place. some might die, so produce replacements and extra coal. just transfer the catapults(just make sure that the no. of workers at the place you are transferring to is equal/more than the no. of catapults transporting.THIS IS (almost)UNBEATABLE!

COMPLAINT!!!!!!!! the barracks take 2 people per day right. but you only get 50 workers per day, so your going to run out of room sometime. its not making any sense whatsoever. THIS HAS BEEN THE COMPLAINT.

for beginners, pick artavera. after having the basics, get a lot of soldiers. then, invade the area at about the top-left of your city’s reach. this should be haze. it is strong because it makes strong catapults for easy pwnage.
