Due to the lack of any good escape or strategy games that are not written in a different language being released today, I have decided to write about a spoiler. Battleground states 2008 is not a new, great, or breakthrough game, but it did give me a kick for the few minutes I spent playing it. The game is set up like risk and the initial starting positions are the states where each respective candidate is winning. You must use your strong location to encroach upon your opponent’s weaker positions. |
The number of delegates you have determines how strong you are in a certain state. This is not like risk where both sides lose armies, it is more of a winner-take-all. This game is pretty easy and I beat it on the first try. The main thing is just to be smart when picking your battles and only attack if you have at least a 4:3 advantage. Watch which state you are attacking from as all your “power” or “delegates” will transfer over to the state being attacked. You don’t want to leave your states too vulnerable. Defender wins ties and there’s no advantage for the attacker so if you have about the same number of delegates, wait for the AI to attack. The AI is not too bright and will take stupid gambles at times, so if you just play sensibly, you will win. Have fun!
