War Zone Tower defense is a fun create your own tower defense maze game with many choices of towers, maps, and defensive structures. You must defend against both land and air units so building both ground lasers and air defense is vital. I found that concentrating fire and making use of the towers’ best abilities was the best way to win. |
For instance, the laser cannon fires in a line so its probably best to build your maze so that is has long straight ways so the laser cannon to have its best effect. I’ve played the default map through the first 100 waves so if you having trouble getting started. You can use it as a guide. Click on the “Click me, I am a walkthrough link to view”.

Starting out: Make sure the enemy only has one exit, put machine gun towers along the exit path. They receive maximum damage as they pass through the exit.

Boss 2: I forgot to take a picture at the first boss, but I need to mention that you should extend your wall-maze out a bit and upgrade the machine gun towers in order to kill the first boss. For the second boss, I had a flame thrower tower, a plasma turret, and some upgraded machine gun towers, it didn’t stand a chance. Also a missile pod for air targets.

Boss 4: By this time, I had a ground laser cannon, an air laser cannon, and an upgraded air missile pod. I also upgraded my ground plasma quite a bit.

Wave 65: Its pretty much the same setup except I upgraded more and sold a machine gun turret to replace it with a plasma turret.

Wave 80: I bought a heavy cannon for AOE damage at this point and upgraded my other stuff. Notice that I also wrapped my maze around. This ensures maximum damage at minimum cost. Looking back at the later waves, I should have bought more heavy cannons because the pathway got really congested after a while.

Wave 100: Well, this game actually goes on forever, so I stopped building around wave 95 or so and creeps got through, but I bet I could go at least for 10-20 more waves if I kept building. Or just keep wrapping my maze around. It works pretty well.

I’ve become addicted to this game recently and was using a similar technique as you, but I never used the blocks, I made my whole maze out of machine guns…I think the highest score I got was around 39,000 and the whole screen was covered. Don’t remember what wave that was at, but I’m going to try your method and see how far it takes me. I can’t believe the high score right now is 180,000!

I’ve also made my mazes from guns, not walls. Buying upgrades is more efficient than buying another gun capable of equal damage. I favor machine guns, since they attack air and ground enemies. I eventually use all weapons, though. This strategy has taken me to a score of 59,951 at wave 115. Great game.

Highest score my fiancee and I have managed is 63000 – but it feels like there’s a ceiling around there. It’s hard to see how any strategy could get us farther than that. If anyone reading this has broken the 70-80K barrier in this game (on default settings and map) please post your ideas here.

I am trying to find some help for the Fortress one, i am having trouble with the level 17 boss. No matter what i do, it still kicks my butt and I cant seem to kill him

I have been past 70k Alex, and my strategy was a wall that funnels to one space at the beginning, with about 6 Pulse Emitters arranged so the enemies must travel in C shapes around them, and long straight lines with about 4 Lasers (Following the same line) aimed down the alley. For air, The pulse emitters weaken them at the start, and I have Laser (Air) Cannons to finish them off. So far, it’s worked for me. Also, Flamethrowers, with enemies in a spiral shape, work incredibly well too.

Been over 90k many times. I always end up losing between levels 125-130 and it always seems to be lack of strong enough air defenses.
I start out with cannons and let them take any path. Then build a couple missile launchers towards the base to handle airborne enemies.
Next I’ll build some blocks to start funneling but the trick I’ve found is to walk them through the pulse emitters. I’ll use these where terrain doesn’t require blocks and have them pass each emitter twice. Then, as I start building towards the left on this map I go back and forth between upgrading these & air defenses. The pulse emitters are nice as they hit ground but do nice air damage as well.
Once you get clear of the rocks on this map start building walls with three blank spaces between them. Then you place pulse emitters on the left and right so the creeps have to take a zig-zag path up and down. You end up getting 2-3 passes for each one depending on upgrade strength and placement. Also, flamethrowers work very well when they’re cornering and/or grouped together.

I get to wave 150 or so~
The tactic I use is pretty straight forward. I make 4-5 flamethrowers to handle the ground units, followed by a huge line of emitters near the bottom of the map (since air units pass there as well). I then put walls around these emitters in such a way that will make the enemies pass 3 times by each emitter. To handle air units, I just make lines of missile launchers and near wave 120~ I begin to build plasma cannons.

well i’ve been using a stratigie somewhat like this where all i use is cannons and air turrets and the heavy cannons. i make a maze out of all my cannons and my capability to kill all the tanks is maxes out around level 118 then i just get completely OWNED. any suggestions as to how to make my fortifications stronger and are machine guns better then cannons.

i just started playing this game 5 days ago and i love it. using the blocks does help alot cuz it slows the vehicles down but the air attack does kill me. Made it to 43k/ wave 101. its kinda like Command and Conquer but the cool thing is the ur Cannons and Machine guns dont get Destroyed. any hacks for this game… lol… just wondering…

I got to wave 130 (school got boring) with the enclaved map and quick cash mode. My score was 75k-80k, the plasma cannons (most expensive ones) do most DPS, I think. I made a maze from the center of the map, and had 4 maxed out plasma cannons. Also, flamethrowers, about 12 maxed out flaks right next to the base, and a few emmiters. This strategy works well, also, I had about 2-3 maxed out heavy cannons at the corner of my maze.

I got to wave 167, 123,405. I was not logged in. I use a dual maze format that filters into a single alley, then I rotate a block (buy and sell) causing the ground troops to switch directions and go past the same guns multiple times. With the ground troops tied up I focus on air strikes and drop lots of nukes on the air units as they fly over ground units. This does damage to both.
Its really the air strikes that will defeat you.

Map: Enclave. Main defense is walls and Pulse Emmitters. Note that all emmiters dropped can hit the planes. That makes all the difference in the end. Everything is fully upgraded, and I rarely had to use bombs or nukes.

I have read mention of upgrading defensive towers?

You can upgrade the towers by clicking on them. When you click on a tower, it becomes highlighted. A target appears around it and the upgrade options appear at the bottom of the screen, in the control panel. You can choose to upgrade, or sell the tower.
Make sure you are not using a bomb or nuke when you click on the tower, otherwise you will simply cause an explosion.
Another interesting point about selecting an existing tower is that it shows you the enemy that the tower is targeting. It is possible for you to click on any other enemy within the tower range and the tower will target that enemy instead.

One trick on these games is to use the “swinging door” trick.
Set up the maze so the they funnel fro the rocks forward and take that path south close to the base – when the enemy is about to push past you – open the far NE corner of the map and block the SW funnel – ALL the critters do a 180 and you get to live another day + all the enemies has to go past all your weapons again. Laser groups are the best as they have great range and hit all targets within the beam.
It takes some skill and timing – and when the whole map is full there really is no where else to go.

level 126 with upgraded machine guns, lasers, and air lasers. The emp bomb helps alot with the bosses slowing them down, it says it only lasts for 5 seconds but its more like 30 seconds and the jets always get me in the end. screenshots below

reached lvl 160 with a score of 105,254. The ground units are no threat. the air units are tough. In order to keep the ground units busy make 2 paths to the base with each passing a large group of leveled up turrets. Make each of the 2 paths as long as possible and keep one blocked. When the creeps nearly reach the end of path 1 quickly unblock path 2 then block path 1. All the ground units will turn around and head for path 2. When they nearly reach the end of path 2 unblock path 1 and block path 2. You can create some serious traffic jams with the grounds units barely moving. If it wasn’t for the air units the game would be too easy.

i got to 108 thousand, all i did was build a series of those green pulse emitters and built walls so they had to walk all the way around them to get by, and then a built a 10X5 line of missile towers and laser towers, and they just slaughtered themselves

Here is the limit of my strategy: 128400 and wave 174-175, I still die by lacking of air support every time.
I tried many times 2 air support ways, one with lasers ,one with missiles, and one with both of them. I get plenty of them and many pulse emiters (about 20) to take ground and air units. Everything is upgraded as much as the available money permits How can some people do 160000 and more?

I reach 86k points and around 127 wave. What I do is I make a labyrinth of green circle things (the one that explode around it) and flame thrower. I also have many lasers and giant cannon in the middle. I also put some rocket launcher to deflect the air attacks.
Later on in the game, NEVER use machine gun and the gun beside the heavy cannon. Even though they can shoot both air and ground, they don’t deal enough damage. Cannon and flak cannon sucks cause heavy cannon and missile launcher are better. Remember, MAKE A MAZE up and down!

So I actually photoshopped out a planned maze and obstacles along with what i wanted where… its worked pretty good. Much easier to think it out, and easier to plan on the fly for sure.

my score right now is 332,000 using ground only and quick cash. i see some people say that ‘without ground units this game would be way too easy” well yeah almost. basically, if you don’t screw up anywhere (like closing the window you’re playing in) you can live as long as you want. however, at this level (i think i’m on wave 297) the bosses take a long time to kill. i have close to 75 heavy cannons (every one of them maxed out) and even with every one of them foccused on the same boss, it will take me upwards of 45 minutes to kill the boss. splash damage will kill probably 75-100 enemies around him in this time though, so money is never really an issue.

This game should be made available to download and run through the DirectX componenets. It would be so cool… more weapons, more levels, and then SHIIIIIITTTTTT you’ve got yourself a title winner! i use rows of flame throwers and can get 2 level 120 easy depending on hoe i start its like an assembly line or a slaugther line it works great and in space u dont use put heave cannons and or lasers cannons

My best score is 85k – I build a cube 11×11(inside space) made of flamethrowers and place 4 pulse emiters inside adding walls so the enemy has to go almost around of each emmiter, for air – 9 flack, 9 missile. around 60 k I start using emp, It works well up to car boss around 80k, it’s impossible to kill him and wave of cars that shows after him.

One more thing – What I wrote above das done at deflaut map and settings. Me and my friend were thinking and testing strategies all day at work how people get almost 200k, now I see that there’s one high score list for all maps and settings. That’s not good, If a person runing highscore list server is reading this – please make separate list, or allow adding result only if game was played at deflaut.

I got so sick of playing, this was after hours, and then the bloody high scores didn’t acknowledge me! 175750! and no, I’m not in there. It is such a waste of my time this game.
I wrote LOL over the build up of enemies, but for those of you with too much time on your hands, the yellow circle and red x’s show where I do a double take. I lead them in one side and then open the other up and close the one they are in, off. So they go all the way back round again, gives you much longer to shoot at them.

ive been playin this game for a while on and off now, but i cant seem to get past about 140! at about 120-125 things start pickin up in the game and i start to panic as air strikes get to much and all my concentration goes on them, and not matter how i try to stop em i cant……ive tried everything! some one has got to kno……..??????????????

but my stategy is i build a line of horizontal pulse things at the end of the parrelel line the enemys are runnin down i build lasers as they dont stop after hitting one enemy it goesw through em! then make enemys pass pulse things once again and repeat the process……like i said i dont have trouble with ground attacks swinging doors or not its the air strikes cos you cant spend to much on them at first cos u need to concentrate on ground! someone help…….

I made it to level 22 with one flamethrower, and only got hit by planes
My best score was 78K at 133. I was doing better once but ran out of time (ICT lesson over in school lol). If you’re using the laser cannon technique you end up with quite evenly damaged units when it gats hectic, so nucular bombs are really effective in finishing them off, and pay for themselves often. Also make sure you’re aiming your laser turrets at the right angle as often as possible… I always get nailed by the air also, even with nearly 30 semiupgraded air missiles. :S

I like a ‘ground only – fast cash’ game. 50+ heavy cannons 20or so, green blipy things (cos they look pretty) 2 mazes = L244 .. i lost when i forgot to switch! its a bit of a endurance animal really. Thinking of setting a timer so I can do other things BUT that’s a bit sad. I’m sure if you really went for it you could spend days at it! thankfully I got bored after a few hours.

i manage level 141,, Air isn’t the issue with me, 9 full upgraded flak cannons, 6 full upgraded missile turrents and 2 air lasers do the trick there, its the ground that gets me, no matter what maze or nukes i use, they still get through!!

This game is so addictive! My highest score so far is 88912 for quick cash, and 70161 for default. I find mixing up the weapons works the best. and i also build a maze with weapons and blocks

I just recently got 75,000. Try using the pulse emitters. You will notice that the airplanes will tend to follow the same path. If that path is covered in upgraded pulse emitters, you will have an efficient defense that kills both air and ground.

put lazers in each of the corners and they go way across the map cuz the lazer keeps going out of its range as long as it can shoot at sommthing within its range. it seems to work for me.

I use walls and guns. Start with cannons and a couple of missile turrets. Then build a plasma cannon or two. Then build heavy cannons and upgrade. Make sure your maze is pretty long. My best recommendation for the maze is to make the lanes two units wide. Then stagger walls inside the lanes. This forces the units to go around, thus doubling the amount of space they need to cover.

the farthest i got was level 105 with a ton of plasma canons. 45,989 score i just made a lot of walls so the creeps went by the canons 3 maybe 4 times. fun game.

I just got to wave 178 with 138000 points (quick cash, ground only). My trick is to use fully upgraded cannons for everything and a large maze of blocks. When building the maze. I do as much as I can diagonally. This builds a maze 2x as large for the same number of blocks. It also slows the units down which reduces the effect of cannons shooting from a distance and missing their target. I could of done a little better though if I would of sold everything at the end to buy nukes. Selling 15 or so cannons would given me 50 or so nukes.

I got to about 180,000 points. My system is to use only flame throwers at the start never upgrade them they will be useless later in the game even at full upgrade.
Create blocks vertically that will clump all attackers so you can nuke and EMP them more effectively because when you reach 120,000+ points those are pretty much your only weapons that can keep you in the game.
Finally use nothing else other than Plasma Cannons and Heavy Cannons at full upgrade, every other tower is useless these 2 are the most efficient for both air and ground. Don’t even bother with the turrets.

i play my little fortress, my reasoning is that heavy guns mazes are the best – because of their range they can cover the creeps longer than any other and their splash damages multiple, machina – lazers maybe better than heavy if placed right because they hit multiple with the same amount of damage (full splash, hvy canons only in the center) and also never miss, plasma only in under the airways, any error in this reasoning?

There only 3 weapons that make sense in this game: Plasma cannon, Heavy cannon and the Pulse emitter everything else is useless when you get past wave 150. Pluse emitter makes snse because wh you reach to wave 200+ your entire screen is pretty much filled with enemies which makes them quite efficient.
My highest is wave 280 here is a pic below on one of my recent attempts when I just got terribly bored and gave up.

lol well you are the man machina (im wallow about at around 60 k ^^), great patterns there, you should contact the developers ^^, could it be that pulse makes sense because the heavy gun damage doesnt stack (or the explosions impede each other or dont go through walls?)? afais theoretically hvy guns should still be better – full screen or not, my idea of ideal lazer placement doesnt work because you can only have very few firing directly in a lane (if you put them in the row u waste range)
any reason for the blobs of walls near your goal?

little addition: diagonal lines dont slow them! i did the stopwatch (diagonal and straight, same amount of squares) and its pretty much the same, wall mazes instead of turret mazes only make sense for the lower resale loss which can be used for nukes, space-wise you dont really win enough lane-time to justify the fewer turrets (though this also depends on if the damage stacks or not (?))

well there is a way to do up 90k, you need to make a maze of flamethrowers, fully upgraded if its possible, if not, just as much as you can, and then as stated at the top, use lasers at the end of the tunnels and make the maze single lane, and if its double lane, put a block at the start on the bottom, move a square then put a block on the opposite side that you put at the beginning all of this done in a two lane tunnel, surrounded with flame throwers.(I found the double lane tactic way more effective, then single lane, but double lane takes up more space, but stalls them more

I can easily get to lvl 150+. Here is what you do; Make a maze of towers straight across the map with one square for the creeps to travel. Do this long way across the map. Build one of each tower. Ex >>>>> machine gun, cannon, flame thrower, pulse emitter, laser, big cannon, plasma cannon and repeat for the maze. DON’T upgrade until the maze is completed across the whole map usually this is around lvl 100. This gives you a nice balance of power. The only problem is the bosses. They take all the focus of the long range guns and the regular creeps bottle up and are impossible to kill. I don’t build many if any wall towers. I just use towers to make the maze. I got to lvl 160. So I am not really sure what to recommend upgrading after the maze is done. Big cannons are so slow so I usually go lasers and pulse emitters.
Another tactic is just machine guns and pulse emitters upgraded in a maze. You can easily make lvl 100 this way.

That’s My Path, unfortunatedly I gutted it before I Died to try and get a few more levels done. (I mean I sold all the ground turrets to hold off the air). I blocked in green where the pulse emitters were. Each emitter hits loads of them, especially when the lead one is EMP’d and they bunching well. I have 3 seperate paths which I block and unblock, which holds off ground units fine. It’s just surviving air that’s the problem. I had more air but sold it holding off the air attack before the one that killed me.
The ground units stopped dying for me after 150ish, and so stopped my cash-flow
I’m sure I can get further if I can be arsed to try again and concentrate more on air and improve the path to hold the ground at bay more… I also might switch to using plasma turrets so that I get a better cash-flow later on..
This game will ruin me lol

Nice strategy but I alway get stuck at wave 120 or so when there is a massive airstrike. Since they are flying really fast my tower always get destroyed by friendly fire. Can someone help me out?

what i did, was i made the level hell, i put flame thowers on every other square, follewed by a shit load of lasers,
i got up to level 115 it was the planes that killed me

nice use of pulse jethro, double lanes work quite well, havent thought of that, and the game is addictive indeed, we ll need to have a self help group, anonymous warzone addicts ^^
did some long lazer lanes, half my maze finished and got to wave 130, the problem with lazer lanes is you have to aim manually almost all the time, otherwise they ll go for the leading mob and thus fire diagonally and not along the lanes, at maximum the lazer hits 22 squares in a lane (plus is free to fire elsewhere in its range), pulse hits 15 at best but with higher damage, heavy gun hits only 20 squares (tight wall maze) – higher damage in the center but lesser towards the edge
one would have to know the exact decay of the hvy gun damage to make a judgement but my hvy gun mazes seem to fail pretty early
jason missile towers have a superior dmg per second and spent money (double of most towers), low max dmg though (have many or dont keep them too long), alt. build lazers and when air gets tough convert some to air-lazers, superior range thus doesnt really matter where u put them
flame thrower is hard to judge, raw data dont look too good (,04 dps/dollar, fifth of others)

Any idea how to download this game and play offline? I downloaded the .swf file but it communicateds with the “madcowinteractive” server. I just can’t get it to run offline. by the way….which mode of play are you all using? te default one or some other modes? 100k fixed cash seems quite helpful…

wow didnt see the 100k mode, really the best for a level playing field and to test the efficiency of different configs, first shot with it with a few mistakes took me to 129, all lazer lanes, would be even better if manual aiming wasnt so hard

95k is my highest. I put diagonal rows of blocks so all ground forces are slowed to a crawl. Then I put lazers at the ends of the columns- so they have to crawl directly into ,or slowly away from the barrel of the lazer guns. It’s important where you put your lazers because they damage everything in their path.
So by putting the lazers at the begining and ending of the columns the can cut through 20 or so ground forces at one shot…..I need a life. LOL

I found it easier to do the first 80-90 waves staying closer to the base thingamajig, using 3 flamethrowers and a few machine guns in the middle.
I used that to stockpile all my money, then I built 2 plasma cannons and the beginnings of my maze starting around wave 50 and from there I just extended my maze.
Also, put all your air defenses along the bottom of the screen, or use them to further your maze…
This lasted me to 72k points, only because I made the foolish move of selling a few air turrets to stop one of the boss’ a few rounds before, so I paid for it :p

my first time playing this game i didnt know what to do and i got to level 50……………….the second time i knew what i was doing and i got to level 120 and i built my maze with nothing but flamthrowers and turrets instead of using wall blocks

I found that 4 or 5 missle towers maxed out can handle any planes you’ll run into but i haven’t gotten past wave 110-115, those damned tanks! But using maxed out flamethrowers on corners works awesome, machine guns i find useless after the first boss, so i don’t use them at all

i find it quite easy to get to about 125000 towards the end of my time im selling off the air units and slowly my maxed powered ground just to nuke the air attacks. but still get killed god nnly knows how some of the high scores have been achived, unless they are playing without air attacks. by the way all of you that are boasting hi scores on the no air attack game, my gran could compeet with ya without air attacks its pointless. play the full game, grow some balls and stop filling this sight with useless crap. heavy guns fully upgraded x2 mazes and some air thats all you need. o and lots of nukes.

Both mindjolt (and therefore facebook) are using a version that doesn’t have the “ground only” maps.
On some sites the game has “ground only” versions of the same maps.

My strategy is put 10 to 13 lazer in the back of the map and used the green cannons cannons along making a path diagnol and used the swinging door idea

Ground/Air maps I can’t get above 85,000, but on the ground only maps I get creamed at about 140,000. I’m not sure what is best. I’ve tried building little traps of pulsing green things and flame throwers around those and that seems really effective. I then build a maze of non-upgraded big cannon things, upgrading as I wish.

The best strategy is machine guns and plasma guns as they attack all enemies. I do use flak cannons for air only since the machine guns and plasma guns usually attack whatever is the closest target, and when the bosses come, they take longer to eliminate. Another trick is to use Quick Cash and never the fixed amounts as you will be stuck once you set up everything. Finally, and this will slow down game play when you reach over 130 levels, set up the path so the ground enemies have to go in a perimeter path and constantly build and sell the block walls so that they enemies have to go back the other way. There will be a severe traffic jam, but your only worry will be the air enemies with this strategy. I don’t know if there is a final level, but I have reached over level 170 and got bored.

One thing to watch out for is that the big cannon do not really fire every 6 seconds. If their intended target goes out of range or dies, they find another target and this whole procedure often takes more than the published 6 seconds. Defenses that shoot more often give you more fire power per unit of time (Plasma towers)

i think i got somewhere around 160 on ground only levels with something that basically looked like this ( i used 100K to quickly get a picture of what would usually take a hour or so to make so definitely UPGRADE the maze of pulse emitters (or whatever they are called)
yeah it looks like something an idiot could think of. lol. but it WORKS. and thats the point. but always keep a reserve of 1000 or more so you can emp bosses at waves above 130. they are moving nuclear fallout shelters and ticks me off.
Now, i got up to maybe 150 something on the air&ground levels by building………wait for it………..a huge maze.
thats it really.
see. orginally i started out by blocking all entrances to my tower with blocks then set up a single flame thrower. and eventually air started coming so i set up flak cannons along their flight path, taking advantage of their one movement path. and eventually it grew into a huge maze. i placed a flame thrower behind any and everyblock wall and realized flame throwers slow the enemy down. so off to the side and anywhere else they could fit. i loaded heavy cannons and once i got all my flame throwers at lv 2 and maxed my air defence which was like…..16 flak guns. i maxed out the cannons. and simply put, they were moving so slow that it didn’t matter how much health they had…. they were worn down to nothing. …..untill they get past the maze and kill you lol.

On Enclave, I created a maze of blocks that went vertical. I had plasma turrets between the rows and laser cannons lined up to shoot across the rows.
plasma emitters is placed along the rows. i accidentally left a hole in the maze so i was defeated in or around wave 70. I couldn’t block the hole due to the stream of enemies.
I havent tried to do it since then since setting it up was alot of work.

I just did what he did but i found my anti-air was lacking there wasn’t room to build up on anti-air
To use anti-air efficiently i found that you should space out flak cannons for maximum splash damage
Puts air units in a crossfire so if you have the time you should build around your anti-air not anti-air around you maze lol

Dudes, i used a divide and conqure technique works awesome, as they get near one end of this 2 way maze i block it and they have to turn around and go for the other end, and then keep doing it, u wont need many nukes except for the air which i still have a hard time with.

I play with a maze of Machine guns and then open another tab and go no a nother website and nuke the once and a while, then at wave 97 I make 12- 15 plasma canons near the base.

i did a giant maze to then end and put giant cannons all around most of em upgraded to 2 and only 1 upgraded to 3 nothign else but cannons and for yhr air well i took those miseel ones put 10 and upgraded them to all to 3..that last to lvl 120 no mroe after u gonna sell everything an duse nuke it will buy u 5-10k points more instead of just dying stupidly

On default settings, ground and air attacks, the limit of the game (I believe) is level 175. Use the above ideas, plasma emiters, flame throwers, missle towers or flak or lazer, swinging door, selling off towers at the end. Upgrade everything you can. At the end the air attacks will get you.

The trick is to make mazes with pulse emitters so that the creeps go in circles. Doing that allows you to build those missile turrets like crazy, IGNORE the other air defences because they are useless. This way the creeps will walk in an endless circle getting exposed to the pulse emitters, and eventually die. Ignore all builds except pulse and missile launcher. Use a flame thrower and a flak in the beginning.
Around wave 150 your screen will be packed with ground creeps. Save 1k worth of money and use a nuclear where it will impact the most. This will kill maybe 4 creeps. That will earn you enough money for another nuclear. WHen u use this maybe 3 will die. Continue this until you don’t get enough kills to support a nuclear, and wait till the creeps gather again.
Around wave 165 you wont make enough money to kill the creeps with your income. You have to sell most of your towers (yes your missile launchers as well) and use the money to nuclear until you run out of money and DIE :p
This is the method the highscorers use. I have yet to find a way to create a maze to get mobs more cramped together for maximum exposure but I will do this later and pots an update.

i got to wave 160
you need to make a big square at the middle of the map. line it with fully upgraded flame throwers work your way up, then when there is just enough space for 3 more lines of towers build plasma turrets, heavy cannons and lazers. upgrade them twice. then just make a big maze of blocks near the back.
for air buy 25 fully upgraded missle launchers in a square. at wave 125 start using e.m.ps at the air enemys and at wave 135 use nakes and e.m.ps
sell your towers at wave 145 and then use nukes untill you losse

I made it to wave 125 with 70,000 some points and i didn’t use any machine guns or flame towers. All i used were lots of pulse emiters, lasers, heavy machine guns, and missle turrents.
I started out blocking off those top and bottom entrance like you did and then I put a cannon just to start things off. Once i made 1000 with my cannon i sold it and put a pulse emitter right in the crevice in the remaining entrance. Then I put a missle turrnet up and just went from there. The maze is deffinately the way to go, with heavy cannons and lazers attacking them while they go through a long maze, it seems pointless for them to even try, but watch out for those air planes, they start to get brutal around wave 120, If I do it again I am puting up way more missle turrents.

Make it so there are two entrances to the base.
Build your maze so that the creeps head towards one entrance. Then block it off. They then have to travel all the way round to the other entrance. Then delete original block and block off the 2nd one.
This technique is boring but will allow you to play indefinitely as the creeps will never reach your base.

ive gotten to wave 150 and gotten a score of like 160000. my strategy is i make my maze with flamethrowers and make it a one square path. continue the maze by going back and forth creating parallel paths with flamethrowers if needed use an emp wave to slow down the enemy so that the flamthrowers wil have more time to destroy them since there in a line slowing down the front slows everyone down

i did ground only mode for field of broken dreams. start with 2 flamethrowers and upgrade to lv4. then, on the map, block off all entrances except the top one and add 3 rows of pulse emitters in the middle of map + 10 more on the blocked area. also add a short blocked route to the satellite. around wave 110, remove the block to the route to the satellite. then the tanks will go out of the maze then close the block. they will go in the maze again. that way damage delt is a lot like a super long maze.
i got wave 234 and 236520 pts doing this. it was my 7th try.

How do you get ground only? is that only on different websites or what? I can’t get past 100k with air…. i spend too much money on air and not enough on ground later in the game… I mostly use MT’s and HC’s and it works pretty well but not for 100k+… any suggesting would be great.

yeah i used the same machine gun set up at the start but i changed up the whole maze thing i used a strait line for the laser cannon twice and made the rest of it all twists and turns to the end and i closed off all the entrances to the end besides one tiny spot and the same at the start for the fun of things when i finished i just started nukeing things and got to wave 150 with a score of 105,054 the next boss was on wave 151

The game was awsome.I got all the way to level 194.The game was the same as Canyon Defense on Miniclip.com.I got to level 194 by making two places were they could get through.when ever they got close to an entrans i would put a block in front of it.I would have a lot of puls ettmiters in the middle so when they would come back they would get damaged.

Here’s my question: if you have four vehicles within range of an upgraded pulse emitter, (4000 damage per pulse) does the 4000 get divied up between the four vehicles? Or do they take 4000 damage each?
I am starting to suspect that the 4000 gets divided up (which would be lame) because I am making use of pulse emitters in stepped (corner to corner) formations allowing me to route vehicles around all 4 sides, however, even with 20+ upgraded pulse emitters, I can’t take out the vehicles on level 125.
Same question goes for the lasers. If a laser with 1000 damage crosses through two units, does the 1000 get divided between the vehicles, or do they each take 1000 damage?

I got 150k with air. If your getting beat by ground then you haven’t figured out making multiple routs. I make 3 different routs and rotate through each 3 as they get close to the end.
If you have at least figured that part out then your objective should be now to use as little money towards ground as possible. I use only 1 pulse emitter fully upgraded for land. To get started I use about 5 lasers for ground but once the maze is complete they are converted to air lasers, leaving only the pulse emitter attacking ground. Do not upgrade lasers. You want to have your lasers on the bottom 4 four rows for efficiency when they become air lasers.
I dont use any flak cannons only missiles and I fully upgrade about 20 of them. It should be designed in a way where clogs of ground begin to form along the bottom in same rout as the air. When you begin using nukes at the end you also kill ground which will help earn more money.

On the Facebook version of this I have passed 100k points. The easiest way to do this is to build a maze around upgraded pulse emmitters, as they can hit both air and ground troops, and have 6000 base damamge when upgraded fully.
After around 80k points save up money for nukes and use them on spaces where both air and ground troops are next to each other to soften them up. I fell I can go higher than 100k easily so you lot should be able to at least get 90k. Oh and never use machine guns. You might as well throw stones at them then use machine guns past 50k points.

Is’t very easy to get a score of 163… just make a map en let them walk 2 ways…. shot one way, open the other, en reverse… i had a score ( ground only ) of 195… but the computer get’s very slow and the game will act veryslow …

I got to level 143 (air + ground) but cant seem to get further, I send them all along the bottom edge then up and back passing on both sides of the same row of pulse cannons (using a stepped path to make them continually change direction)

I just set up a line of flame throwers, creating a ‘guard of hnour’ sort of thing running up to the base, and they all get fired at at once. I then jsut have 4 or 5 air lasers along the bottom of the screen to deal with air attacks. Works every time

Im stuck on 76k and I use lasers with no upgrades, about 20 rockets x 1 upgrade, 10 flacks x 1 upgrade and use pulse laser on every bend.
I think the key is a length of the maze you make. I try to nuke planes when they are over tanks… 2 in 1.

i made my maze out of macine guns until the area where the base is, that part i made out of blocks. i find the best way to win is to make a walkway for them to go through only one block wide so they can only go sngle file and its easier to see who your shooting that way. have an area (close to where they come out of) dedicated to anti-air guns. and the most important thing to remember is: make them go where YOU want them to go.
i got 50,038 points like this.
oh and some of the bad guys cant be killed by nukes, only damaged. get LOTS of money and nuke them 2 or 3 times and they will all be killed. the amazing thing is, if u nuke them, u get more money back from them than however much the nuke is ($1000??)

I got a score of 96,500 using the maze technique on the default map but I put three or four machine guns near the entrance(s) to my tower. Near where the enemy units spawn, I put a flamethrower and blocked off all but one space right next to it. I made the maze walls of mostly plasma cannons, as they can attack ground and air units but with the occasional flamethrower. I don’t use flak cannons because half the time they miss, but put about 10-15 missle launchers near the tower. Hope this helps! =D

Those scores on facebook that say they have 999999999999 were hacked, they aren’t real. And nukes/bombs are a waste of money, just upgrade your guns. EMPs help in the higher levels because they slow down the units to hit them harder.

it does have quite equal defance both air and ground. before planes reach their goal, i was having ground defance problem. upper left corner would be my solution. but planes acted quicker than me LOL

I have had luck with building two mazes coming from different sides and when the enemy gets close to one, I will block it and leave the other one open, then they have to travel all the way back around to get to the opening. Then I block it and open the other one up. I’ve gotten up to about 85,000 doing it this way but the planes always seem to get me.

I got through level 177 and 144000+ score by just using three types of weapons. Heavy canons+pulse emitters+missile turrets.
I have 1 level 3 heavy canon at the opening, 12 level 3 PE’s and about 15 level 3 missile turrets scattered all around. Plus i do the “tank confusion” technique wherein i open and close two exits whenever the enemy tanks approach the nearer exit

I have been playing the game for about 2 weeks. I make my maze out of guns not walls. The highest score that i have achieved is 82000 by using only machine guns and missile turrets. On field of dreams all u have to do is stack the missile turrets around the bottom of the screen to the middle and work your way to the right. Use about 35 turrets 5 up 7 across. Then, make it so that the only way for the ground to make your way to the base is at the top of the screen. Start making the longest maze possible with straight lines. Stick a laser at the end of every single line though. Also once you have made your maze all the way to the base, start upgrading. Don’t worry about air until the air units start becoming a hassle, then just upgrade your air towers. keep upgrading until the units become too strong. You should get AT LEAST 70000 points every time

If you go to heavygames.com and look under the strategy section, and choose Warzone Tower Defense, it’s the same as facebook except there’s two options for each location, air and ground, or just ground.

I usually play 100k-fixed games to try out good strategies. Up to lvl 120-125 is normally no problem, after that it all gets a whole lot tougher.
Now I play the game via Facebook, where people have maxed out the scores (9999999999…) on normal mode…

got to wave 170, 130.000, best thing is an snake-shaped maze with flamethrower ever 2 tiles and lasers at the ends so they have a straight shot, hitting multiple targets and place a green thing every now and make a bottleneck also set some heavy cannons too to creata a devastating effect.

THIS IS BULLS#@!!!! I went to the website madcowinteractive.com to try out only ground attacks (yeah I know it doesn’t count) to try my newest approach (nothing but a maze of heavy cannons) and at about half way filling the maze, the game would not respond any more…or more specifically i could put one heavy cannon maybe every 5 minutes (don’t get me started on upgrades!) I would hear nothing but explosions and “when” the screen would show what was actually happening the “troops” would be half way through the maze and I could not complete my maze or upgrade my weapons pretty much at all! I ended up dieing at wave 145 or so, but not because my strategy doesn’t work..but because the game got confused. How the heck do any of you get to 200 plus levels?!? Has anyone encountered this problem, and if so does anyone know a more stable version of the game with ground attacks only…. I am losing my mind…I think heroin is less addictive than this! this game is hard enough without it trying to mess me up.

I been passed 5000k and passed level 150. I made a barracade around the tower with 3 missle turrets 2 pulse emitters and machine guns. Also, made a lightning strike maze with air laser cannons on each end, 2 flame throwers every 2 squares, machine guns going downward with laser cannons.

I can get around 112K every time now with a massive amount of ground units backed up using the swinging door method but the air units smoke me bad pretty much all in one wave. Fun and Im determined to hit 200k within the week. (B.T.W : my 300k points there is playing the hacked version of the game with the money cheat)

i got 111k so far. thx for the tips from this forum. but thats my limit i guess. i still searching ways to get more money, always run out of missles. always get too many ground units. if i could kill them all it could make more enough money to build missles. too bad, could find a good balance between ground waepons and missle. however, i died without selling. i might challege 130k next round by selling. but could there be any better way? like can we stuck them forever? if we could build a full map of missles, can we stop the air units?

those people who got 999999999 or even 200k points above are cheaters! i played a hacked version from http://webtrainers.weebly.com/warzone-tower-defense.html where they give you 9999999999 credits (unlimited money), i build a full map of missiles and use massive nukes (like almost free), but it seems the missiles wouldn’t be effective anymore without the nukes. i stop at 150k score, i dont think anyone can get more that 150K in facebook version (with air) because they just cant get this far without cheating, they just wouldn’t have enough money!!! i stop at 150K score because no point making my computer hang all the time after the super multiple click of nukes.

wave 144. two columns of about five lasers thick. walls maze back and forth so lazer with multiple targets at once. at the end its kamakazi style so use all earnings on nukes. at that point its none sustainable. 144 is when nukes fail to work.

I made the same idea but,i did it with guns,i made some walls too,but i made the though the end.i made them on flame throwers….it was a kind of bad idea beacause i only got my score around 40,000 i know i was proud,but i was not happy with it!!i was using this strategy since i played this game…BUT GUYZ DONT TRY DIZ IDEA,BUT IF YOU WANT TO TRY DIZ IDEA U CAN TRY IT AND MAKE YOUR SCORE OVER 40,000

The pulse emitter strategy does work to a point, but you have to:
A. Maximize the turns as earlier stated. I built a wall in a C shape and then suprrounded the whole thing in machine guns/plasma guns.
B. try to limit the paths between emitters to maximize the amount of emitters you can put down. Try to make one emitter formation roll right into the next. I even managed to get them overlapping a bit in places.
Even then then highest score I could get was around 100k. Wave 130 or so. The problem is money becomes a factor. I can’t get all the stuff upgraded fast enough. Otherwise I believe I could take it much further.

ok everybody is bragging about there score, but their scores suck. I get to about 200,000 points and then i get ran over. Does anybody have any tips on how to get a higher score without cheating? BTW the record is 499,999. How is this possible? or is this a cheat?

the game becomes impossible around level 170 or so – unless you do the revolving door and play ground only. basically, the units are so tough no matter how much money you have and what you built it takes too long to kill them.

I got 110000+ on default mode. Ground assaults are piece of cake, but airplanes are big pain. Even when I sold all my missiles and nuked the living hell out of the planes it still doesn’t work!

There are 2 key elements you must include in your strategy if you want to break the 100k mark. So far I’ve only heard one of them mentioned, creating a maze. The second key element in building the most effective defense is to keep the air and ground weapons separate. I’m sure a lot of you have noticed that your machine guns will turn away from the ground units and start shooting at the planes when they fly over. This works fine for the first 60 – 75 waves but the closer you get to 100+, the farther the ground units are able to go. So what’s the solution? Split the map in half (horizontally). Close off the bottom and middle entry points and force all ground units to the top. Since the planes only fly to the lower half of the map, fill the bottom with turrets and flack cannons.
There’s no need to create a maze with the air weapons, a solid block (rectangular) with as little wasted space as possible is what we want. At the top half, just create a maze with tons of little turns and switch-backs to subject the ground units to as much firepower as possible. Since the machine guns and plasma cannons won’t be able to reach the planes (for the most part), you won’t have any periods of reduced firepower against the ground units.
Lastly, place some pulse emitters where the units originate and force them to walk around like 5-6 of these. Don’t forget to upgrade everything as you go! Good luck.

I can get to Lvl 160 with 102K. A maze with Pulse Emitters and a lot of turrets. Two laser are cleaning too fast ground units.
Air kills me all the time.

just to let you all know if you don’t already.
warzone tower defence has now got an option which lets you have no air attackers and just ground units, making this strategy much easier. all you have to do is replace the air defences with ground defences that seem to match.

Actually the [pulse emitter] works on air units, too. I usually lined up the emitters in the ground maze to intercept the planes. I think I needed more [laser towers] both air and ground to kill the bosses. I try not to use the swinging doors for my maze.

Hi everyone. I have no trouble getting between 80k and 90k everytime on default, however, I see scores of 120k. There are also impossible scores posted, but don’t let those fool you. They are just from idiots too lazy to figure out a game and run cheat genies to boost scores. I was wondering if everyone out there has a strategy that could push me over the 100k mark. I always find that around 60-70k mark the air attack is what always hurts you. You spend more money on slowing them down and nukes, and because of this you are unable to upgrade you weapons. If anyone out there has any tips, please post them. Also, if anyone wants tips on how to get to the 80 -90k mark, let me know.

There are many different approaches to this game, no matter what that approach is the key to adding a few extra thousand points at the end is to sell your weapons and nuke what you can. ONLY do this right before the point of defeat.

over 130k default, air and ground, field of broken dreams…
my strategy: gotta start saving money from the beginning, including saving money by minimizing walls… start with two cannons near the top, one should block off the middle path, the other should leave only one space for ground units on the top… block off the bottom path with 3 wall blocks…
upgrade the cannons to level 2 asap… build a missile turret to kill off the first two air waves (location is important – want to use the turret as a wall, later in the game, so figure out the best place thru trial and error)… after the first boss, you should have 2 cannons, one level 3, the other level 2… build another missile turret asap for the next waves… and start building pulse emitters near the bottom of the map… i build 8 emitters, eventually fully upgraded, with all ground units passing each PE as many times as possible using walls and missile turrets… you want to maximize the amount of damage each emitter can make – how i do this is i make a zigzag path around 2 groups of four emitters, between the two groups of emitters, and then once more around the 2 groups using walls and missile turrets… eventually, you’re going to want to sell the cannons (as they become useless)… also, i make a maze on the top left of the map all the way down to the base (make sure you save money on this project as well) so there are two paths… you can close one of the paths and all the ground units will go back thru the PE maze and up to the other maze… make them go back and forth…
missile turrets should be continuously built all around the map (near the middle, the entrance, and near the base)… they should eventually be fully upgraded… at around 70,000 points, i usually have my maze finished, 8 fully upgraded PEs, and about 16 fully upgraded missile turrets…
in the beginning, air attacks are no threat… but at around 60K, you should time the closing of the pulse emitter path so that when the air attacks come, the PEs are hitting only the planes… after the plane wave is done, you can reopen the PE path and continue to destroy the ground units…
around 90K is when things get tricky… at this point, you want to time the air attacks to coincide with when the biggest concentration of ground units is going through the PE path… then when the air units come, EMP them and nuke while the air units are above the PEs… at this point, i have around 30-40K in money…
at 115K, start selling the PEs and missile turrets… hopefully, you should sell themem all by about 125K and start nuking (liberally) when the air waves come… again, you want to maximize ground and air units getting hit…
this strategy can consistently get you over 100K on default… the tricky part is the start… where to build the walls, turrets, and PE to save the most money and inflict the most damage…

Two paths on any map is the key to prolonging your life. I stop at wave 300 and 300,000 points ‘cause I can’t sit here past 10 straight hours. I need to break a leg or something.
My Little Fortress ground only. I immediately block the bottom opening with 1 brick and then use lasers, at the top, to create a single lane straight down into the Tower. Then, I leave 1 more lane open using more lasers going downward on both sides. I stop with lasers at the bottom of the Tower’s rock surroundings. I create the two paths by splitting the field. I build a wall downward off the 1 brick towards the bottom and then build a wall at the bottom, going both ways, with it curving upwards leaving one block open. From there, I use rows of pulse emitters separated by one brick. I use one brick so when switching paths I can open a brick to allow “laggers” to catch up and close the gap so when I switch paths again the time gap between switching paths is lengthened. Remember not to upgrade lasers until the very end. Use your cash to upgrade pulse emitters. Even then, only upgrade those that are both furthest from the Tower and closest to the main wave of attackers. This method gets to wave 300 every time. Until I break that leg.

Also important to note- When building paths (of guns or blocks), always be sure that it is single file. That way, they can only move as fast as the lead vehicle (which you can EMP…). The exception to this rule is a large opening that holds the congestion and has several guns shooting into it (with splash damage).

ok what i usually do is just first do laser plasma cannons all the way. make a big line of them so that they all shoot at one target at the same time. shorter lines but double sided so they all shoot at once. then before i make my maze I create a line across almost the whole map so that any air defense for the first 80 is easily held off. as time goes on i create a maze that covers the whole map… just around and around spirals, back and fourth just make sure it take a long time. then make another row of missile turrets and upgrade them. make a spot where they all bunch up and use a nuke on them… usually I look and for me it is only big enough if i gain money for using the nuke. then as time goes on i keep adding in things like flame throwers all across the map inside the maze so that they weaken them and when they get to the giant row of pulse cannons they die. every once in a while i spend money on another row of missile turrets.

I just hit 136k last night. Im betting 160k this week if im patient enough. the trick is to build one main maze with pulse emiiters and then about 20k start building a second road where they come out. at 40k you should have a total seprate maze built at that point you open the second maze and close your primary maze so the troops will back track. and when they get to the end of the second maze unlock your first maze and then dam up the first one. youl get a crazy amound of traffic jam its tempting to nuke them but use your money on upgrades everytime you change direction. after 120k the game really slows down bc the tanks take sooooo much damage.

Can keep this forever.
Game progress is very slow because new waves cannot come in until enough units are killed. The towers are too weak so it takes forever to kill.

also, about weapon use. I say use heavy cannons always. they will defeat an enemy quicker than a laser cannon, and do more damage. When all of your cannons fire at the same time, they destroy anyone in their way. Even the smoke from their cannon balls creates damage to the tanks following or somewhere around the destroyed tanks. only weakness is air turrents, that’s why i use the ground only mode on madcowinteractive. You can also upgrade you base to base regeneration when you sign up for mocagames. When a boss guy hits you and creates a lot of damage, your base can regenerate by itself to max health. So you don’t have to worry about your base except until you run out or room to put guns.

The two paths method does allow you to go to the end of time but all you need are heavy cannons and pulsers. Make a column of pulsers two spaces apart and just put blocks every two spaces. this takes them for ever to go down the path. Keep a bunch of upgraded cannons near you base as a kind of last defense. my highest score was 110000 at level 190, because eventually they get backed up all the way and cover the screen pretty much.
P.S. plasma cannons are useless after 100 so just sell them all and get heavy cannons, besides they cost the same price (1000).
P.P.S. because of the extended versioin just make an account real quick and get the base regeneration, it helps so much (in case you forget to switch the blocks or something).

I made it to wave 372, my score was well over 300,000, i use no walls, i basically used lasers, heavy cannons, heat seeking anti air missiles, air laser and E.M.P and nukes, easy tactic is to create a maze with towers and not wall, because wall wastes space that you could use for more towers, trust me it is one of my best tactics and you are surely to get to wave 200+ and a score of at least 150,000+

level 150, score: 108,103. did it with flame throwers, pulse emitrs,plasma canon and lasers.hehe
