Star Baron is a fun strategy game that is reminiscent of Nano wars where your stars generate resources and ships and you must send them to other planets to take them over from the enemy. There is a lot of strategy to this game as there are many types of planets and you must make use of each of them to be successful in the game. In particular, the defensive and economic planets are extremely important as you have to set these up right in order to produce more money(so you can have more ships and to act as a defense matrix for your other stars.

At the beginning of the campaign you will only have access to regular stars but as the campaigns go on, you’ll start to get access to specialized stars and thats where the fun begins. The first 3 levels or so, you can just group all your ships together, take over neutral stars, and then take out the enemy stars. You start with a tactical advantage, so these missions are easy. Starting with mission 4, you may not be able to do this. You will have to be better at micro-management. You will need to send ships to your stars that are under attack and micro where you send each star’s ship in order to take out weak enemy stars for you to gain an advantage on the field. You start out with a tactical disadvantage and will have to control your stars, take out the weak ones first before taking out the bigger ones and take advantage of opportunities right after the enemy attacks to gain the upper hand. As soon as you get access to the specialized stars, use them to your advantage. Put the defense stars in front, the AI will try again to take these but will fail. Then put cash stars in the back to boost up your economy with some naval stars in the middle. When your line advances, use the new stars as defense and convert the original defense stars to regulars, naval, or cash stars. Throw a few mining stars in there as well. Using this strategy is pretty successful. I advise you play on medium and fast speed as that is the mode I like to play on.
