Samurai Master is a fun game where you are a samurai who is under a brutal and ambitious warlord. Unable to just sit by and watch the warlord is doing to the citizens, you decide to go to Tokyo(Edo) to warn the Shogun of the warlord’s evil plans. You must fight many samurai on the way to the capital and prove your honor and skills. This is truly one game I really enjoyed and did not get bored of the hacking and slashing quickly. The journey is broken up into several mini-levels from city to city. |
First, you will face swordsman and archers. I suggest you go to the two ends of the map first to find the archers and kill them first, otherwise you will lose life by their arrows. Just jump over the swordsman to get to the archers and watch for the arrows as they fly close to you and jump over them too. Once you eliminate the archers, its easy to kill the swordsman at leisure going from one side to the other. Use that super-dash in emergencies.
Also don’t forget the three guys at the bottom of the map screen, the ones that heal and give upgrades, they are vitally important. The old guy heals you 1000 HP for 2000g. Wait until you lose 1000HP first before you go to him. Don’t go to him whenever you lose 50 HP. I’d get the +70 damage upgrade first before I get the aura and fatal strike upgrades, damage is pretty key. It’ll take you a while to get to Tokyo, buy its a a lot of fun on the way. I’ll post up a video if I can find one. Feel free to discuss.

3000 AD is a retro-style mechwarrior game where you are a disciple of one warlord faction on the brink of space and must destroy another warlord’s faction to gain control. This game embodies the classic Mech-Commander game pretty well, but its not without its flaws. The control layout is solid with A,S,D,W as movement, mouse to fire, and space to fire the missile. However, the one major problem with this game I had was that the contrast between your character, the enemies, and the background was not great enough. |
Sometimes during a heated firefight, I had trouble wondering where my guy or the enemies were because they blended too much into the background. Bright colors for the enemy and your character would have helped a lot. Another thing is the difficulty. I had trouble avoiding enemy fire while firing at them(partially because I found it hard to see some of them). I usually had my health knocked down pretty far after just one or two waves and the missions were seemingly impossible to complete at times. The difficulty of the game needs to be toned down for casual gamers to truly enjoy. Nontheless, gameplay was pretty solid and if you were a mech-commander fan, you’ll probably enjoy this game.

Twisted Cooking Mama is a fun spin-off of the popular Nintendo DS game, cooking mama. Except, that game was nice and friendly. This game is well - not. In this game mama has become a sinister PETA-hating killer. Your mission is to use mama to kill, mutilate, gut, and torture the poor helpless animals in her preparation of her bloody meals. Its also to satisfy mama’s large bloodlust and hate for little cute animals. I found this game kind of funny and a little disturbing at the same time. |
Putting in the evil mama concept was hilarious and using Mama to mutilate little animals was fun, but it did get boring after a while, although each level did bring new mutilations and was worth playing. Some of the levels did go a bit over the top, but I guess that is ok, since this game has little replay value after you run through it once or twice. Still, for those of you who like cooking mama and don’t mind animal cruelty too much, check this game out.
