3000 AD 3000 AD is a retro-style mechwarrior game where you are a disciple of one warlord faction on the brink of space and must destroy another warlord’s faction to gain control. This game embodies the classic Mech-Commander game pretty well, but its not without its flaws. The control layout is solid with A,S,D,W as movement, mouse to fire, and space to fire the missile. However, the one major problem with this game I had was that the contrast between your character, the enemies, and the background was not great enough.

Sometimes during a heated firefight, I had trouble wondering where my guy or the enemies were because they blended too much into the background. Bright colors for the enemy and your character would have helped a lot. Another thing is the difficulty. I had trouble avoiding enemy fire while firing at them(partially because I found it hard to see some of them). I usually had my health knocked down pretty far after just one or two waves and the missions were seemingly impossible to complete at times. The difficulty of the game needs to be toned down for casual gamers to truly enjoy. Nontheless, gameplay was pretty solid and if you were a mech-commander fan, you’ll probably enjoy this game.

twisted cooking mama Twisted Cooking Mama is a fun spin-off of the popular Nintendo DS game, cooking mama. Except, that game was nice and friendly. This game is well – not. In this game mama has become a sinister PETA-hating killer. Your mission is to use mama to kill, mutilate, gut, and torture the poor helpless animals in her preparation of her bloody meals. Its also to satisfy mama’s large bloodlust and hate for little cute animals. I found this game kind of funny and a little disturbing at the same time.

Putting in the evil mama concept was hilarious and using Mama to mutilate little animals was fun, but it did get boring after a while, although each level did bring new mutilations and was worth playing. Some of the levels did go a bit over the top, but I guess that is ok, since this game has little replay value after you run through it once or twice. Still, for those of you who like cooking mama and don’t mind animal cruelty too much, check this game out.

omnomnom Omnomnom is a game where you are a hungry grub that must eat a certain percentage of the level’s leaf to advance to the next level. This game seems a bit odd at first but it actually is a pretty fun game. There is strategy to this game because if you just take random bites, you will fail to reach the goal, even on the first level. You only have a certain number of bites to reach your goal. I find that the best strategy in this game was to play it like a puzzle.

Each bite has a different shape and you need to piece them together in the shape of the leaf as much as possible. Start at the top and go from left to right and fill in the spaces you missed with the smaller bites. Do not randomly jump around the leaf and take odd bites where-ever there is space or your spacing will not work. Slowly work your way down the leaf but be quick to position your bites as the speed of the bites increases as the level goes on. You should be able to beat levels with a few bites to spare. If you don’t, it means you haven’t spaced well and are in trouble. Try this game out, it worth a 15 minute break.

double edge Double Edge is a cool fighting and hack’n'slash game where you play a hero sent to an undead kingdom to defeat its evil overlord before he overruns the land with his undead minions(sound familiar?). This game played a lot like the earlier “Achilles” game in that it was smooth and it had nice animations for hacking and slashing enemies, along with the blood and graphics. But as with all these games, after a while, it just stopped appealing to me any longer — I can only hack and slash for so long.

If you really enjoy these games, then give it a try, it’ll be good at least for a break between work stints.

Kingdom of the Wind Kingdom of the Wind is a fun defense game where you must defend your castle that is up in the air. You must upgrade your mana supply, upgrade units, and more in order to survive wave after wave of oncoming attackers. Each wave is harder than the last and you must survive all the days to win the game. Upgrading your mana supply is crucial as you can summon units far quicker if you have a strong mana supply. I would actually sacrifice a bit of castle life in the beginning just to upgrade my mana supply and start building units when the enemies really start piling up.

If you choose to build a bunch of crap units in the beginning, you will not have adequate mana supply at the end to upgrade and build stronger units and you will die. I’ve posted a video of someone beating the 8th and final day. Its a little different than my strategy but still works.

renegade commanders Renegade Commanders is a command and conquer-like game where you must build buildings, train troops, and defend your base against enemy forces. To complete a mission, you must either gain enough territory or hold off against so many enemy waves. The first level is an introductory level to get you to learn the basics, the real game begins on the second level. I chose to play the GDA side(note the similarity to the GDI in the C&C series) and fight against the rebels, but both sides play the same way.

You need to note the strengths and weaknesses of each unit against each other unit. For example, the air units are good against everything except bazooka-men. For the first real mission when you are on defense, your first priority should be to build the 3rd power plant and a vehicle plant and start pumping out tanks and troops. Also, don’t forget to build the fifth turrets. While the troops and tanks in the 2nd level aren’t a real threat, the long-range cannons are. You’ll find your structures suddenly exploding if your not paying close attention. Always scroll the map with the arrow keys to keep a lookout for long-range artillery and keep a good combination of air troops, normal troops, and bazooka troops in your army. You’ll need to defend all sides but most of the artillery comes at the bottom. Do not let your barracks get destroyed or it probably will cost you the game. Keep troops on patrol at all times and kill off the long-range weapons so they have to come into the range of your turrets. Doing this will let you defensive structure kill most of their units and if a good way to victory. Good luck!

Hanna in a Choppa Hanna in a Choppa is a fun helicopter like game with physics and more controls. There are 21 levels in all, each with different flying goals and objectives. I suggest you play the first few levels carefully and do all the challenges like flying, hovering, landing, etc before you advance on into the later levels as the basics are very important and will serve you well in the later levels. This game combines the simplicity of the old Helicopter game with some new real-world mechanics which makes for a very interesting game.

condottiero Condottiero is a fun sniper-assasin game where you pick one of the many characters available(all with different stats) and go on individual missions to take on evil targets. You only have a certain amount of time to eliminate each one so you must be quick about it. Using your character’s strong stat would be a good idea and being precise with the mouse wouldn’t hurt too much either. There’s not much explaining to do in this game as there is an in-game walkthrough you can look at. Have fun!

Super Stacker Walthrough admin 12, November
super stacker Super Stacker is a fun game where you have a certain number of boxes that you must stack and have not fall for a certain amount of time to advance to the next level. The first level is pretty easy as you start with a big base and just advance upward. However, the later levels get really tough and you may have to try several times before you succeed. I have posted a video walkthrough below. Click the “Click me, I am a walkthrough” link to see it.
