A few days ago I wrote about Frontline Tower Defense, a graphically intense tower defense game. Since then, I have played it some more and have found a new tactic that will work on medium difficulty. Its not a no-leak strategy in most cases but will suffice. A few creeps from the earlier waves will probably get through. Later, when you upgraded the skills in attack power and range, nothing should get through. You can go back and play the earlier levels then if you want to get the 1 extra skill point for not losing any health. |
Anyways, this strategy will be quite different from strategies that you may be used to for tower defense games. Look at the picture posted above and note where all my towers are. Thats right, they are not in the place that would cover the most area on the map, they are placed right near the entrance. The reason is simple. Enemies move extremely slow while they are coming onto the map so hitting them right as they come out gives the most damage. I’ve also placed towers at the end of the map or clean-up(this is necessary). This generally works for maps with 1 entrance. For maps with two entrances you will need to space the map. I’ve found that after you upgrade the range, most towers can reach over to both entrances if you put the tower in the middle.
You can always start off with either sniper, machine gun, or 4 basic towers. After that, build 2 teslas(one near the beginning and one near the end) and then 2 more basic turrets. Afterwards, build 1 more tesla and then maybe a damage/range booster. After that save $1500 for the missile tower. After you get your first missile tower down, the game is pretty much over as no enemies will ever get through. I usually have 4-6 fully upgraded missiles towers at the end.
