Heavy Weapons is a fun retro arcade shooter with over 50 levels and 21 unique weapons which you can buy at the shop. The point of this game is to kill a certain number of enemies on each level and collect the debris in order to earn money to spend at the shop to buy new weapons. There are many types of weapons which are suited for different levels. To be successful in this game, you not only have to be a good shooter, but need to equip the three slots on your ship with the different weapons.

There are basically three types of weapons you need. A basic fire, a spread fire(or multi), and a power weapon. At the beginning, I got the diagonals for 4 – way fire. It was a good way of taking down groups of enemies at once. After level 4 or 5, I bought the Arc fire which let me shoot 3 lasers from the front of my ship. Then, I bought the homing missiles before moving on to larger homing missiles. The big particle weapons are great for taking out installations for Cash, so I suggest you buy one of those too. A big part of this game is just to avoid the spawn points where enemies come out of. A lot of the game I spent just going around in circles while firing to avoid enemies. However, be aware that many of the big-power weapons have very long cool-downs so you will need to keep switching weapons in order to get a constant stream of fire. Another big tip is before starting a level, look at how many enemies you need to kill on that level, that will tell you the primary type of weapon you need. If its relatively few, use a spread-fire weapon. If it is a small number, then use a heavy weapon. This is help you a great deal throughout the game.
