Brick Yard is a fun stacking game where you have a certain number of bricks to stack and you must stack the tower as high as you can. You must keep a balance of all the blocks and the best way is to build a solid foundation as the base and try to make other blocks fill in the gaps. Of course, this is not always possible, especially if your playing random and you just get a crappy piece to start with. You still need to make your surface that your stack is on as flat as possible, however.
The one thing that people may not realize about this game is that you can put any block anywhere. Even in spaces where the block would not fit. The game somehow shoves it in there. This can be used to great advantage to balance out your toppling tower. However, you should be careful when using this tactic as it could backfire and destroy your tower. Think of this game like tetris stacking — except that the pieces don’t always fit so nicely together. Happy stacking!
Wallace and Grommit Top Bun is a fun “do theses tasks as fast as possible” game featuring two lovable movie characters starting a bread baking business. The graphics and presentation are superb in this game and is well above the norm for this genre. The same is pretty simple. You drag the bread in the oven, bake it, and then put it in the van. The more you bake, the more points you get.
There are some recipes that require additional ingredients that you have to add which make it harder but overall, its a pretty basic “do this task to get points” type game. The voice overs are good and overall this game is a pretty good one to burn some time with. Give it a try, you won’t regret it. You should also watch some of their movies if you haven’t already.
Noidzor 2 is a fun flash game that is kind of like a reverse breakout game with RPG statistics. Its a little hard to get used to at first but gives a unique playing experience. You basically play the wall and bounce a ball to break it. There are bosses, special weapons, stats, and powerups in this game that you can use to your advantage. Its somewhat like the first game except much improved in terms of graphics, variety, and gameplay. I can’t explain much more of it at this point so why don’t you give it a test drive and see how it is.
Xenon Prime Racing is an awesome new 3d vector racing game. Even though there was a bit of lack of variety in this game and only 4 cars to choose from, the 3d graphics and the racing bit was done very smoothly and well. There are 4 tracks, but the other three are locked until you beat the first track. The last two cars are also locked at the beginning.
I prefer cars are about equal power and handling so the green buzzard was my favorite car. As far as the racing goes, this game was alot like most over games of the genre. Go fast as you can on most of the tracks but de-accelerate around the turns so you don’t run into the sides or go off the tracks. As difficulty goes, this game wasn’t any harder or easier than most other racing games.
Although this is not a super-slam ultra-awesome game, it does have potential and is well put together. If the next version added weapons and other additions to make the game more involved, it would be a winner.
Tentadrill is a fun action/shooting game where you are a squid who must defend the ocean from the dark creatures that have just arrived. You need to collect seashells to level up, avoid or shoot evil fishes and mines and dodge rocks. All in all, its a pretty fun game with a nice flow to it. Dodging the ridges does kind of hard though as sometimes the spaces between two rocks gets mighty small and there can be a shell right next to one of the rocks that you want to collect.
Stage 0 is just an intro stage so you won’t be able to shoot in that level. Don’t worry though, you gain the basic firing weapon in stage one and thats where the real fun begins. I’ve posted a youtube video of someone playing this game well. Check it out if your having trouble.
Twisted Cooking Mama is a fun spin-off of the popular Nintendo DS game, cooking mama. Except, that game was nice and friendly. This game is well - not. In this game mama has become a sinister PETA-hating killer. Your mission is to use mama to kill, mutilate, gut, and torture the poor helpless animals in her preparation of her bloody meals. Its also to satisfy mama’s large bloodlust and hate for little cute animals. I found this game kind of funny and a little disturbing at the same time.
Putting in the evil mama concept was hilarious and using Mama to mutilate little animals was fun, but it did get boring after a while, although each level did bring new mutilations and was worth playing. Some of the levels did go a bit over the top, but I guess that is ok, since this game has little replay value after you run through it once or twice. Still, for those of you who like cooking mama and don’t mind animal cruelty too much, check this game out.
Omnomnom is a game where you are a hungry grub that must eat a certain percentage of the level’s leaf to advance to the next level. This game seems a bit odd at first but it actually is a pretty fun game. There is strategy to this game because if you just take random bites, you will fail to reach the goal, even on the first level. You only have a certain number of bites to reach your goal. I find that the best strategy in this game was to play it like a puzzle.
Each bite has a different shape and you need to piece them together in the shape of the leaf as much as possible. Start at the top and go from left to right and fill in the spaces you missed with the smaller bites. Do not randomly jump around the leaf and take odd bites where-ever there is space or your spacing will not work. Slowly work your way down the leaf but be quick to position your bites as the speed of the bites increases as the level goes on. You should be able to beat levels with a few bites to spare. If you don’t, it means you haven’t spaced well and are in trouble. Try this game out, it worth a 15 minute break.
Hanna in a Choppa is a fun helicopter like game with physics and more controls. There are 21 levels in all, each with different flying goals and objectives. I suggest you play the first few levels carefully and do all the challenges like flying, hovering, landing, etc before you advance on into the later levels as the basics are very important and will serve you well in the later levels. This game combines the simplicity of the old Helicopter game with some new real-world mechanics which makes for a very interesting game.
