Space Invasion Tower Defense is a fun game where you have 2 modes of play. In the first mode, you must kill all the enemies before they reach the bottom of the screen. In the second mode, you must defend the central gem from the alien ships. At your disposal are 12 types of upgradeable turrets with different powers. With three modes of difficulty and great graphics, this is worth a while of your time. I suggest your start with easy or normal before moving on to the unlimited category and competing for high scores. |
On normal, you should build 2 rows of towers. You should go with either the basic or the splash towers. I prefer the splash myself but many people prefer basic. Upgrade them all the way before building anything else. However, do not upgrade as soon as you have the money. Upgrade only when creeps seem to be getting through. There is a small amount of interest at the end of each level.
After you’ve upgraded your 2 rows all the way. Build either an explosion tower or save for an ultimate tower. If you go with the ultimate, position it right as it will only be able to cover half of the screen. I suggest you go with the explosion towers, upgrade them for a level or two before saving for the ultimate towers. This should carry you through medium most of the way, if not all the way. You may want to build some rust and slow as well.
On unlimited, in the later waves, you will want some rust towers towards the beginning and some instant death towards the end. The shock towers are also pretty useful for stopping enemies in their tracks. Happy defending!

Vector Siege Tower Defense is a fun multi-level tower defense game with several attributes you can upgrade with XP points after beating each level. There are nine towers in all, of which 5 must be unlocked by spending XP on the “tech level” upgrade. The nine towers make for interesting strategy as certain types of setups combine traits of the towers better than others. The real challenge is beating levels 8-10. |
For the first 3-4 levels, you will not need to upgrade your tech level or get gems. In fact you won’t need gems until level 9. Don’t go and try to build an ultimate tower in the first few levels, you aren’t going to win that way. Start with your basic and splash towers and upgrade the splash as soon as you can. After that, save some money to build a rust tower. The rust tower does a lot of damage and increases the damage that the enemies take from all other towers. It should probably be your tower of primary concern until you can unlock level 4 tech to get the explosion tower. You will want to build a slow tower or two when you unlock the tech required because they will help you on boss levels as will stun towers.
Once you unlock the explosion towers. Get your basic setup of 1 normal tower, 1 upgraded splash tower, 1 rust tower, and then save to buy the explosion tower and focus on upgrading that. The explosion tower will take you deep into the 40s and 50s waves if you upgrade it all the way. You will also want slow and stun towers at this point for boss waves. Finally on the last 2 levels, upgrade 2-3 XP in gems to build the ultimate towers. You cannot win the game without building some, so save up money at the end and build the ultimate towers in critical places. Good luck!

Gemcraft 0 is the prequel to gemcraft. This chapter reveals the backstory on how the evil being known as “the forgotten” was freed. Although the ending is dire, the game is addicting as ever! You start out by summoning gems and gaining XP by beating levels. You use those XP points to buy skills and upgrade your gems’ attacks and effects. There are so many upgrades in all that its hard to choose from. After you get to a certain level, you can go back and replay levels in different modes to gain even more XP. |
You will need to do this in order to get enough XP upgrades to beat certain levels. There are 5 arcane guardian levels before the last level. You’ll need to be at least level 60 to beat the last level.

I beat the game on level 74, but you can do it around 60.

Desktop TD Pro is the long awaited follow-up to desktop tower defense 1.5. This one is just like the original except there are more scenarios, more options, and a multiplayer feature that the original was lacking. Strategy-wise, it hasn’t changed that much as most old DTD players will be familiar with the towers and the gameplay. Just in case you having trouble with the game, here are video of levels 23 and 24 of the scenario mode. |

A few days ago I wrote about Frontline Tower Defense, a graphically intense tower defense game. Since then, I have played it some more and have found a new tactic that will work on medium difficulty. Its not a no-leak strategy in most cases but will suffice. A few creeps from the earlier waves will probably get through. Later, when you upgraded the skills in attack power and range, nothing should get through. You can go back and play the earlier levels then if you want to get the 1 extra skill point for not losing any health. |
Anyways, this strategy will be quite different from strategies that you may be used to for tower defense games. Look at the picture posted above and note where all my towers are. Thats right, they are not in the place that would cover the most area on the map, they are placed right near the entrance. The reason is simple. Enemies move extremely slow while they are coming onto the map so hitting them right as they come out gives the most damage. I’ve also placed towers at the end of the map or clean-up(this is necessary). This generally works for maps with 1 entrance. For maps with two entrances you will need to space the map. I’ve found that after you upgrade the range, most towers can reach over to both entrances if you put the tower in the middle.
You can always start off with either sniper, machine gun, or 4 basic towers. After that, build 2 teslas(one near the beginning and one near the end) and then 2 more basic turrets. Afterwards, build 1 more tesla and then maybe a damage/range booster. After that save $1500 for the missile tower. After you get your first missile tower down, the game is pretty much over as no enemies will ever get through. I usually have 4-6 fully upgraded missiles towers at the end.

Frontline Tower Defense is a fun mission-based tower defense game where you have twelve different types of towers to choose from and must defense against men, bikers, and vehicles. While this game will be hard at first, its really not that bad once you get the hang of it. I played the game on ‘normal’ difficulty. You get a few skill points to start. I would spend those on increasing my attack power or my troops. I would max out attack power before I look to get any of the other upgrades. |
For the levels, always start with a sniper tower in the middle and upgrade him 2 levels before doing anything else. Then you will need to station 2 Tesla towers. Where you station these towers will be important. If there is a narrow strip where you can place towers that hits two paths, you’ll want to station these towers there. Otherwise its good to have one at the beginning and one at the end. Upgrade these towers as you’ll need them to kill the guys with red hardhats. While you are upgrading these, station 2 basic gun towers at the beginning and at the end. You will need these to pick off the bikers and the truck people. These should work on most maps. If you make it past these initial buildings, I would add 2 more tesla towers(one and the beginning and one at the end) and 2-3 basic gone towers. All towers should be fully upgraded. Once you have those, then save up for the missile tower as that is major help in the later waves. Also try to build some slow towers as you’ll need to enemies to slow down in order to kill all of them. Learn the types of enemies and what each wave is because building around that is the best way to win.
