Here is a video of someone beating the fighting game Super Mario Combat is a game where Mario gets some serious Kung-fu skills and goes to beat up koopas and bowsers. The game itself is pretty short but it is a decent fighting game as mario throws many punches and kicks. Here’s a video of someone beating the game.
Double Edge is a cool fighting and hack’n’slash game where you play a hero sent to an undead kingdom to defeat its evil overlord before he overruns the land with his undead minions(sound familiar?). This game played a lot like the earlier “Achilles” game in that it was smooth and it had nice animations for hacking and slashing enemies, along with the blood and graphics. But as with all these games, after a while, it just stopped appealing to me any longer — I can only hack and slash for so long.
If you really enjoy these games, then give it a try, it’ll be good at least for a break between work stints.
Portal War is a fun fighting game where you choose to be a character from one of the major game portals and fight the other portal characters to the death. This concept is great and the game runs smoothly but unfortunately lacks in diversity and is just too easy. There are two main modes, arcade and versus. In arcade, you fight each enemy one on one until you beat everyone. In versus, you fight against 3 AI’s in a battle Royale. I found that the easiest way to win on versus was just to stand aside and let the other three beat the crap out of each other.
On arcade, just face the direction of your opponent and push ‘A’ and you can beat the game. It was fun for one run through, but not something you can play for very long.
Rage 3 is a awesome stick figure fighting action game that is the third(and sadly possibly the last of an awesome series of games that I have always enjoyed. The action and the fighting is great but I always had a soft spot in my heart for stick figures kicking the crap of each other because .. well, it was so entertaining and fun. Rage adds more to it by giving you a “rage” bar for more ultra uber kick-ass-ness. Be fast, be brutal, and kill everyone in your way. Have fun play range(click on picture or link to play).
